We over planned our debate today, we were only supposed to have four speakers and we had six with one person speaking twice. So I sat out this round even though I had managed to calm my nerves enough to get up and present what I had to and I was actually looking forward to it.
I had to leave early so I had one of my team mates email the result and I guess we won. So our next debate is over same-sex marriage and we’re the negative side. -__- HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAKE AN ARGUMENT FOR THAT!?
Even if my personal views were against the issue how could I support that politically? It’s the stupidest thing to make a law against. It’s ridiculous that it’s illegal now and there’s no point to it. The only argument is religious and that’s not an argument if you’re doing your job and keeping church and state separate.
Anything having to do with the pedophilia excuse would be out-dated and I’d feel incredibly uncomfortable trying to justify as I could easily tear down that argument myself.
I’m tempted to just half-heartily look things up and just not be into the debate at all. Purposely throw the whole debate away. We’ll still be getting the second highest grade in the class.
